Siegfried Handschuh is a partner and co-founder at IntelliSem and Professor at the University of Passau where he holds the Chair of Digital Libraries and Web Information Systems. Before taking the Chair of Computer Science with a focus on  Digital Libraries and Web Information Systems, Prof Handschuh has been Professor at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) and leader of the Knowledge Discovery Unit, at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI). Prof Handschuh holds degrees in both Computer Science and Information Science and a PhD from the University of Karlsruhe. Prof Handschuh has been involved in securing over €20 million in funds. Dr Handschuh received funding awards from the EU, Science Foundation Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, and German local and national funding during his time at University of Karlsruhe. He has collaborated with multi-national companies such as HP, SAP, IBM, Motorola, Cisco, Avaya, British Telecom, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, and Thales. He also received private funding from the philanthropist and co-founder of Microsoft Paul Allen for his research work on the HALO project. Besides his academic and researcher’s career Siegfried has raised more than 10 million Euros of funding as researcher and has acted as advisor and mentor to several of his students that established their own start-ups. Andre Freitas is a partner, co-founder and technical leader at IntelliSem.  Before joining IntelliSem, he was part of the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) at the National University of Ireland, Galway where he did his PhD on Schema-agnostic Query Mechanisms for Large-Schema Databases. André holds a BSc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil (2005). His main research areas include Question Answering, Schema-agnostic Database Query Mechanisms, Natural Language Query Mechanisms over Large-Schema Databases, Distributional Semantics, Hybrid Symbolic-Distributional Models, Approximate Reasoning and Knowledge Graphs. Andre participates as founding partner in a funded company in the  United States and in Brazil (http://www.amtera.us). Adamantios Koumpis is a partner and co-founder at IntelliSem. Adamantios carries an over 20 years of experience in commercial projects, research fundraising and business development. He headed the Research Programmes Division of ALTEC Software S.A. in Greece which he founded in 1996 (then as Unisoft of Northern Greece) which he led till 2012 that took a position as Research Fellow in the National University of Ireland, Galway. He has successfully led more than 50 commercial and research projects for new technology development, technology adoption and user uptake, both at the European and the national level in several areas such as E-Commerce, public sector and business enterprise re-organisation and information logistics, involving the linking of data/information repositories with knowledge management and business engineering models. Adamantios has taught MBA courses in the American College of Thessaloniki in Greece and has supported students in Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia in their first steps as entrepreneurs. He has helped pro bono several start-ups in Greece and UK and has expertise in project management and customer acquisition. LinkedIn
